This Seat Leon Cupra R came to me after a very harsh ‘Moray Winter’.

The client was looking to restore some gloss back in to the vehicle whilst giving him a good base to continue with his own maintenance.

Wheels

• Wheels cleaned with AMDetails acid free wheel cleaner & fine hair brushes
• Wheels tar and iron deposits removed
• Wheels faces polished, alloy wheels sealed, tyres dressed

Paint work

Cleaning

• Lower area of vehicle given citrus wash to break down road grime
• Door shuts and boot shuts cleaned with AMDetails APC and brushes
• Rinse
• Whole vehicle snow foamed with AMFoam to loosen and break down dirt deposits
• All the finer details paid attention to with soft hair brushes & AMDetails APC
• Rinse
• 2 bucket method with AMBubbles & AM Genuine Lamb’s Wool ‘T’ Mitt
• Rinse
• Tar and iron deposits removed
• Rinse
• All paint work and windows clayed to remove further contaminations
• Another application of AMFoam
• Full vehicle rinse paying attention to panel gaps and trims
• Vehicle padded dry with AMDetails Fluffy Drying Towel

Preparation

• Paintwork cleansed and prepared for protection with Poorboy’s Glaze via Dual Action Polisher
• Black Hole for Dark vehicles / White Diamond for light vehicles

Protection

• Protection applied to vehicle
• Exterior trims dressed and protected
• Chromes polished and protected

Windows

• Windows cleaned inside and out
• Windscreen treated with our water repellent formula

Finish

• Exhaust tip polished
• Final inspection carried out
• Detailing spray wipe down in preparation for customer collection

So as I arrived at the client’s home was greeted by this rather contaminated Seat Leon.

As with most of our details my attention turned to tackling the alloys with AM Wheels, an AMDetails Wheel Brush and some 1” Detailing brushes. Once each wheel was cleaned the whole vehicle was given a nice thick helping of AM Foam.

As the foam worked its magic breaking down all the dirt, I started to pay attention to all the hard to reach areas with some AMDetails All Purpose Cleaner and a 1” Detailing brush.

Next up was the door shuts tackled with a strong 3:1 dilution of AMDetails APC and again the trusty 1” detailing brush. We even had to use de-tarrer due to the tar build up in the sills and door shuts!

After (but it seems we only have the left hand door after shot? But you get the idea.)

A good vehicle rinse was then carried out making sure all that dirt and grease the foam had broken down was free from the paint work. When carrying out a good rinse remember to pay particular attention to panel gaps and mirror trims and dirt as debris like to hide away in there and will then slowly dribble out from under the plastics if not cleaned away thoroughly.

Then the whole vehicle was treated to the two bucket method with a genuine merino wash mitt we are trialling and AM Bubbles, followed again by a good old rinse.

Next up was to tackle the unbelievable amount of tar that had attached its self to this vehicle. So a good old spraying of Autosmart Tardis was given all over. Then all the tar was wiped away with our dedicated tar microfibre cloth.

After this is was time to move on to the engine bay. A good liberal spraying in our strong dilution of AMDetails APC then followed by plenty agitation with the detailing brushes.

Once rinsed the whole vehicle was given another application of AMFoam to help remove any of the left over chemicals from the engine bay and bodywork cleaning. After this the whole vehicle was treated to a coat of Poorboy’s World White diamond, applied via the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher.

Next up was to clean the interior and begin the final dressing  of items. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much in the way of interior cleaning shots but we did test out our AMDetails Fabric cleaner of a little stain we found.

Then it was on to dressing the vehicle. Engine bay dressed, tyres dressed, windows cleaned and the exhaust were given a quick hit. This then left us with these finishing shots.
