On a wet and gloomy Sunday, 29 drivers entered into Formula G round 3 at Santa pod UK. with a new exciting layout to master and the classes full of Gymkhana Professionals and first timers it was going to be a day of motorsport madness.
Luckily as the day progressed through qualifying the track dried out and the competitive times began to come through the grid.
For our man Luke Woodham ist the Largest class in Formula G. The RWD Class. With a point to prove at this event after a DNF at round two. Luke was focused and took the top qualification spot over current championship leader Adam Elder.
The battles commenced, and once down to the semi-finals it was all to play for. Unfortunately, Ryan Milton had to retire his MX5 due to a drive shaft failure. This then gave Adam Elder the spot into the Final against Luke Woodham and awarded Philip Stanford the 3rd place spot. It never good to see a driver out but that is after all " racing."
The final as always was going to be tight. Many a time we find it to be Luke vs. Adam but after the Mistake at round 2 Luke was pumped and full of confidence after knowing he had the qualifying win. Time to prove why he is the three times European Gymkhana Grid Champion!
Luke was crowned the winner of Formula G Round 3 RWD Class! With the Fastest time of the day giving him the treble.
Top Qualifying time
This now puts Luke at the top of the Championship just 1 point clear of Adam Elder. If you want to watch an exciting championship. This is one to follow!
You can check this out at Rockingham Sunday 30th July.
We caught up with Luke later and managed to grab a quick chat.
